The neon glow was far too enticing for the large wolf to pass over the cave and, in a moment, she bounded down after it - never thinking if she would make it back again. Etzal wandered deeper and deeper into the dimly lit darkness, eyes wide with curiosity and guard grossly lowered. Her heavy paws carried her through various tunnels, her eyes slow to adjust to the darkness. With her enhanced strength, her eyesight wasn't...great, and it only became worse when the adrenaline rush claimed her. Her sense of smell managed to make up for this disability; however, and at the moment she could only pick up the faint scents of other wolves and tiny creatures who had bumbled into the caves as she did. The scents were old, and so Etzal paid them no real mind. The neon plants growing on the cave walls reflected dimly on her scales, delaying a growing realization that she was becoming hopelessly lost. The large wolf had assumed that she would simply be able to turn around and retrace her steps back into the warm sunlight, but she slowly came to know that would not be the case. Her ears flattened to the sides in slight frustration. There should be a another way out, right?
The large female came to a dead end after what felt like an eternity of walking. She plopped ungracefully onto her rump with a sigh, mentally rebuking herself for this terrible decision. She yawned, her body creaking with a sudden overflow of fatigue. Odd, she was no stranger to walking or running for long periods of time, in fact it was what she spent the majority of her time doing. When she wasn't attempting to scavenge up some food, naturally, which had grown more and more difficult with each passing season. There were times that she wished she was in a pack, believing food would come easier if that were the case, but she wouldn't feel quite right about joining another pack after leaving the Empire. Etzal yawned again, staring up at the glowing plants in frustration, although only minutes before she had been reveling in their colors. Her eyes drooped, head dipping back down toward the ground as the large wolf fell asleep sitting up, small rumbles coming from her throat as she dozed.
