A T L A S
The muddy greyed water pooled around his feet like quicksand. The stench of uncleanliness and the rotting plants emitting from it made him visibly cringe. It was taunting him, really. Here he was not having gotten a good drink in days and yet the first large body of water he finds is rotten with who knows what lurking inside. The wolf sighed and took one last look at the pond before backing away. Normally he would just get his water from the morning dew on plants, sometimes even the ones he carries with him, but ever since he began to travel the need for the liquid had doubled. But his standards remained untouched it seems.
Atlas shifted his weight onto his haunches and brought up a paw to scratch at the base of one of his antlers. The vines hanging off them swaying as he rocked his head back and forth with the scratches. He clicked his tongue a few times out of boredom as he figured what to do next. It wasn't too late to change his mind about the pond but after another quick glance his mind remained settled. He could try going east, or maybe west, what did it even matter, Atlas was painfully lost in the jungle of a forest and that he was sure wasn't going to change over night.
The wolf was at a...crossroads so to speak. He had no purpose, no motivation. In fact his life has always been this way, the only difference is, Atlas never strayed his birth place, a small expanse of land with plenty of small wildlife to feed off and empty logs to shelter in. So for him to suddenly wander off into the unknown was crazy, he still isn't sure what possessed him to do such a thing. The wolf let out what could possibly of been his 30th sigh of the day before slumping down on the ground, he could at least take the time to regain some energy before continuing on his voyage.
